I took this yesterday when I went to the zoo to play with my new camera. This giraffe was photogenic.

This giraffe was not only photogenic, but was born and raised in Tranzania. They call him Gus. He was born during the dry season and his heard moved south to find food. On the search for food, Gus became separated from his parents one day by a pack of hyenas. Poor little Gus was only three months old and knew nothing else to do but run. Luckily he was close by to Refugee Camp where some tourists where on a Safari. The noise of the people scared the hyenas away and Gus was saved by the people of the camp. The tourists just so happened to own a zoo in the Midwestern United States. So they loaded Gus up on a ship and he arrived at his new home within five days. Gus had never been on such a trip before, and let’s just say he didn't care for it either. He was a grazing animal and was use to the plains of Tranzania where they have acacias and other thorny trees and bushes, not the choppy waters of the sea.
Now Gus is slowly making the transition to the Midwest. He doesn't care for the cold winters or the snow, and the summers are way too humid but not hot enough. He doesn't get to eat many thorny bushes now either, but he is highly addicted to weeds!
